The October Budget announced that from 1st February 2025, wine duty will rise by 3.65% and that the temporary duty easement for wines of 11.5%-14.5% ABV will end. If you require more information on these changes and their effects on duty rates, you can find this here.
We have lobbied against these changes from the outset, but our priority now is to support our customers with the complexity these changes cause.
Our duty-paid pricing will change to reflect the new duty rates when they take effect on 1st February 2025. If any customer wants to know the effect of the new duty rates on the price of wines they purchase, we can provide them with a bespoke report.
As we hold price for the duration of a vintage, any changes in ABV, and thus duty and pricing, when vintages change will be communicated in our existing vintage change notifications.
