Success at the 2025 IWC Awards

Liberty Wines have participated in the International Wine Challenge awards for many years, first receiving one of their business awards in 1997. We are pleased to share that Liberty Wines was shortlisted in five categories and won three awards at the IWC awards ceremony earlier this month:

  1. IWC Trade Educator of the Year (for the 8th time)

  2. IWC Australia Specialist of the Year (for the 8th time)

  3. IWC Italy Specialist of the Year (for the 22nd time)

The IWC noted that, as we have grown in the last 28 years, “the team manage to retain authenticity and genuine passion, which is a testament to David Gleave's original ethos” and that “their service level and commitment to customer excellence is exemplary, as is their investment into training/educating both customers and staff.”

These achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of the Liberty Wines team and the partnerships we have developed with our producers around the world and our customers across the UK and Ireland.

It was also a successful night for our producers. The IWC Sparkling Winemaker of the Year 2025 award saw nominations for Émilien Boutillat of Piper Heidsieck (2021 and 2023 winner) and Ed Carr from House of Arras (2024 winner). We are pleased to share that Cherie Spriggs from Nyetimber ultimately triumphed, winning this coveted award for the second time.

Additionally, Tolpuddle Vineyard Chardonnay 2023 was named IWC Champion White Wine and Vinsanto Capezzana Riserva 2017 won the Alois Kracher Trophy as the IWC Champion Sweet Wine for the sixth time.

Both of these wines, and many others from our portfolio, won several other accolades at the IWC Awards earlier in the year. You can read more about these wines here.

More information about the 2025 IWC awards is available on their website.

Ultimately, Liberty Wines would not receive this recognition without your continued support.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do to better support you in the months ahead.
